A video my dad took last month of Logan climbing onto his chair and playing with his laptop. When he says "mmm...", it's referring to the "Happy birthday moon" video that he has watched over and over on my dad's computer.

Glass
For some reason Logan does not like me wearing Google Glass. He always tries to grab it off my face. Recently he's learns a new word "off". Whenever I get home first thing he'd do is point at my jacket and say "off". Here's a picture of him looking at me #throughglass saying "off" (with Glass).

Playing in the car
Playing in the car can be so much fun for a 1 year old. Logan knows exactly which buttons to press to turn on the lights and emergency blinkers. He is especially pleased with himself when opening the sliding doors on our minivan with press of a button. Occasionally he would press the horn by accident but luckily he doesn't know how to intentionally trigger it yet. He has tried a few times by pressing his entire tummy over the steering wheel but with no luck. What really cracked us up when when James let Logan go for a drive in on his lap in the minivan (short distance in a parking lot). Logan managed to use his feet to kick the transmission into 3rd gear. Such a trouble maker!

Maisy
Logan has gotten very fond of Maisy mouse lately and Maisy books have become a part of daily bedtime routine. James usually puts him in the go-go bag first then the two of them will read a Maily book together. Logan calls Maisy "Mei-Mei". He doesn't like Charlie very much though.
Hair cut
We took Logan for his first hair cut at a hair dresser's a few days ago. He was amazingly calm sitting on daddy. Watching both big brothers get a haircut first probably helped and he was eager to have a turn. Sat very still while James held him. Only started crying towards the very end and a lollipop made it all better!

One Year Old
First the Stats -
Height: 30.5" (73%)
Weight: 22.8lbs (70%)
HC: 18.9" (91%)
# of teeth: 6
At one year, Logan is walking/toddling all over the place. He's a great eater and pretty much eats everything we eat now (experience tells us that will soon change). He's also getting pretty strong, often see him hanging off the oven rails trying to climb up to see top of the stove. He's been talking up a storm (though very few people can probably understand). Some words in Logan's vocabulary are:
"MaMa" - usually refers to me (mommy), but he often calls other people and objects in pictures "mama" too so it's unclear yet whether he really understands the meaning of the word. One of Logan's favorite activities is look of family photos on the fridge and find "mama" :)
"DaDa" - daddy. James was very happy when Logan started saying "dada" whenever he came home from work. Of all 3 boys Logan was the first to say "mama" before "dada" though :)
"Mmmm" - the moon. Logan has entered the stage of loving any book that has moon in it so a bunch of old board books are seeing the light of day again. Our second copy of "Goodnight moon" just got a rip in it. The two older brothers are loving showing these books to Logan and pointing out where the moon is on each page.
"Ma" - means more. This is the only word that he also signs consistently.
"NaNa" - 奶(milk). The first thing that he does when I come home from work every evening is point at the couch (where I normally feed him) and say "Na". I'm thrilled that he's still nursing since both N and E stopped at 9 months. I think Logan enjoys comfort of being held more than anything else and these days only nurse for a couple of minutes at a time. We're trying to transition him to cow milk but he doesn't seem to like the taste very much, so might need to switch back to formula for a little while longer.
"Hua" - 花(flower), with almost perfect pronunciation! Sarah has been teaching him to say "hua" when they go for walks to the park. His favorite flower is picture of a daisy we have in the New Zealand trip photo frame.
"BaBa" - Bubbles, a favorite activity in backyard. He likes to walk around waving a bubble wand and will occasionally chew on it!
"WaiWai" - 外外(outside). Whenever Logan is really upset (such as after a bad fall, and unfortunately there has been several), one trick that will always work if we're inside the house is to go 外外. He would immediately calm down once outside and if at night time would be fascinated by the lights.
Logan's 1st birthday fell on a Saturday this year. We had a small celebration at home and Logan really enjoyed having people over, especially other kids around. He was more excited about washing his hands in bubble solution than eating his birthday cake. We did the traditional Chinese game and he picked a toothbrush of all the things, looks like we'll be having a dentist in the family!

Almost walking
I am both proud and sad that my little Logan is almost walking. He's been cruising for a month now and getting more daring everyday. James caught him practicing free standing himself next to the window sill. He would let go for several seconds in a row and quickly grab a hold of the window when he feels unsteady. His current favorite toy is this push along walker.
